Sulphured whole pitted apricots from Malatya are the standard of the world dried apricot trade, valued for their orange colour and soft texture. Türkiye supplies the bulk of world exports; Iran, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan offer cheaper alternatives with less consistent quality. The main buyers are importers, retail packers, bakeries and wholesalers stocking up for Ramadan in the Gulf, Europe and Russia. Size No.4, about 140 to 160 fruits per kg, is one of the most requested mid calibres. Prices follow the Malatya crop: the 2025 frost almost wiped out production and pushed prices to records, while the 2026 recovery to about 75,000 to 80,000 tonnes has brought sulphured grades back down. SO2 level, size and moisture set the spread between lots. We offer it FOB Türkiye from Malatya packers, as spot lots or contracts timed to seasonal demand.
