ICUMSA 45 is the international grade for fully refined white sugar. It is bought by food and beverage manufacturers, bakeries, confectioners and packers who sell 1 to 50 kg bags to the retail and wholesale trade. Brazil is the largest exporter, followed by Thailand and India, and refineries in the Gulf also supply the region. Physical prices are set against the ICE London No.5 white sugar futures, plus or minus a premium that depends on origin, packing and shipment month. The No.5 market moves with the Brazilian cane crush and its sugar to ethanol mix, Indian export quotas, Thai crop size, the Brazilian real and the oil price. We work with spot containers and with term contracts for monthly shipments, priced CFR Jebel Ali or CIF the buyer's port.
