Questions buyers ask

Are the prices on the site firm?
No. They are indicative ranges that show recent market levels for standard quality and container lots. A firm price comes in a written offer with its validity, usually 24 to 72 hours for bulk commodities.
Why are prices shown in both USD and AED?
Most international wholesale trade is priced in US dollars. The UAE dirham is pegged at 3.6725 per dollar, so we show both. Contracts can be issued in either currency.
What is the minimum order?
Each product page states it. For most goods it is one 20 foot or 40 foot container. Some bulk products start at a larger lot, and packed goods can sometimes be combined in a mixed container.
Do the goods have to pass through Dubai?
No. Most transit deals ship direct from the origin port to the buyer's port, with Dubai as the place of contract. Re-export through Jebel Ali is used when it helps the route or the lot size.
Which payment terms do you accept?
Letters of credit at sight, cash against documents and telegraphic transfer with advance or part advance. The terms depend on the product, the market and the history between us.
Can I get a sample?
For most packed goods and for many commodities a sample can be arranged from the supplier before contract. Courier costs are usually on the buyer, and some suppliers credit them against the first order.
How is quality checked?
The contract names the specification and the tolerance. Where agreed, an independent inspection company checks quality and quantity at loading, and its report is part of the shipping set.
Do you sell to retail customers?
No. We sell in wholesale quantities to companies: importers, distributors, wholesalers, retail chains buying in bulk and industrial users.
Can you source a product that is not on the list?
Often yes. Our licence covers general goods wholesale. Send the specification, quantity and port, and we tell you whether we can offer it competitively.
Have a product and a port in mind?
Send the specification and the quantity. We come back with origin options and an indicative price, and a firm offer when you are ready.
